Somchai wonders whether iLAW is ready to accept Administrative Court’s ruling or not

BANGKOK: The Election Commission is ready to accept the ruling of the Administrative Court over a petition from a non-governmental organization that the EC’s announcement setting out guidelines for opinion expressions regarding the referendum should be scrapped, election commissioner Somchai Srisutthiyakorn said on Friday.

He said he had assigned legal advisors of the EC to testify to the Administrative Court on Monday. However, he added that there was no need for any of the five election commissioners to testify to the court in defence of the announcement at this stage.

Mr Somchai noted that the court would have three options regarding the petition filed by iLAW: to reject the petition which means the case is over; to accept the case for consideration and decides that the EC has not done anything wrong; and to accept the case for consideration and decided that the EC announcement be scrapped.

Whatever the option that the court will adopt, he said he was ready to accept the court’s decision. But he wondered whether iLAW is ready to accept the court’s ruling or not.

"But he wondered whether iLAW is ready to accept the court’s ruling or not."....These are military times, you are asking the wrong crowd. coffee1.gif

And iLaw will wonder if the NCPO will an adverse ruling in favor of iLaw.

A ruling which Prayut can void through Article 44.

"Whatever the option that the court will adopt, he said he was ready to accept the courts decision. But he wondered whether iLAW is ready to accept the courts ruling or not."

Which suggests he already knows what that ruling will be.
