PHUKET: -- Gambling raids in Phuket Town and Patong over the weekend netted 29 suspects as well as gambling paraphernalia, including a slot machine and B70,000 cash.

Officers, accompanied by police and Royal Thai Navy personnel, raided a restaurant in the Soi Saensuk area of Phuket Town yesterday (July 10), where 11 suspects were arrested for gambling on Muay Thai fights.

When the raid party arrived, the suspects were watching a fight on television.

The officers then raided a minimart on Thep Pratan Rd, on the east side of Phuket Town, where 12 suspects were arrestedfor gambling on Muay Thai. Some suspects attempted to flee, but were quickly taken into custody. Also arrested was shop owner Vithee Jareukan.

Just after midnight on Saturday night, more than 20 officers, including police and military personnel, raided another minimart and another restaurant, this time on Phung Muang Sai Kor Rd.

Cops do something- baaad.

Just no pleasing some people.

You would think that if you had Slot Machines for gambling they would be hidden in some smoked filled back room in some gambling den off the main road and not at the front door of some mini mart next to the ATM Machine. Go Figure?

It doesn't look like any slot machine I've ever seen. I wonder what the government license on the side is for?

There are gaming machines in Central festival. Many Phuket town restaurants and shops operate illegal numbers game. There are a hundred bookmakers in Phuket. At evert local market gamblers congregate.

Give the locals some responsibility and treat them like adults. Perhaps then they may start to behave responsibly.

Many run two different types of software.

One is a game for children, the other is the gambling game for adults. A flick of a hidden switch determines which game it boots to on start up, but the outside is made to look like an electronic game for children.

Can't you chew gum & walk at the same time gandalf12 ? Whatever they do, for you--it will never be enough.

.

I think people are starting to realise that Military & Police are no friends---The Army lost its patience with the police in BKK massage affair & in the end they co-ordinated the raids----they then sent only Army troops to close down one of the largest Casino's up country last month, it seems in Phuket & Pattaya the Navy is being used more , as you can see here overseeing a place that was quite possibly already known to the police.

This is Asia---there will always be a certain amount of graft---but, Under this regime, the envelopes to BIB are getting smaller & smaller........coffee1.gif
