PHNOM PENH, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) reported on Monday that it had collected total revenue of 883 million U.S. dollars in the first six months of 2016, up 19 percent compared to the same period last year.

GDCE collects taxes on goods entering and leaving the country. "We have achieved about 55 percent of the government-set target for 2016," GDCE's director general Kun Nhim said during a bi-annual meeting.

He said that most of the revenues came from the taxes on petroleum, construction materials, autos, motorcycles, and machinery.
