BANGKOK, 12 July 2016 (NNT) – Deputy National Council for Peace and Order Secretary General Walit Rojanapakdi has instructed government units to maintain peace and order during the upcoming Buddhist Lent holiday.

Meanwhile, NCPO spokesperson Sirichan Ngathong said the NCPO was reported of the arrests of alleged troublemakers with varied illegal items.

The Deputy NCPO secretary general has expressed concerns over the long weekend from July 16-20 and instructed the government units to establish public safety in all aspects.

The authorities will see to it that any wrongdoing will be suppressed or prevented while conveniences will be provided to the public on the roads and activities involving the Buddhist Lent will be fully promoted.

Good thing he gave those instructions otherwise govt units would not have known what to do.

Why not just say DURING THE WHOLE YEAR?

They should be manintaining peace and order all the time. This is just another of the many opportunistic bits of posturing for the quiet news days.

I think you will find all 10 of them will act accordingly every day of the year

Scary if you have to keep the peace over a Buddhist Holiday.
