Much ado about a hairdo, Francois Hollande’s 10,000 euros haircut

Much ado about a hairdo, Francois Hollande’s 10,000 euros haircut

PARIS: -- A hairstylist that costs almost 10,000 euros a month, because Francois Hollande is worth it. France is reeling over news that the president’s coiffure comes with a rather steep price tag.

The revelations were laid out in the satirical newspaper Canard Enchaîné.

His party struggled to defend their leader from accusations of shampoo socialism. René Dosière, MP, Socialist Party said: “When the President of the Republic appears on TV, he must look perfect…the same thing in public. We can surely do otherwise so that the President is well groomed for a better price.”

News of a round-the-clock stylist has done little to improve his flagging poll ratings. Some say it smacks of hypocrisy from a president who carved an image of himself as ‘Mr Normal’ in response to predecessor Nicolas Sarkozy’s ‘bling bling’ presidential style.

Only Socialist way mate.

I glad my taxes are not going to pay for this dick.

I'd expect nothing less from this vainglorious fool.

Just another head of state thinking i can spend lavishly because the stupid tax payers are picking up the tab.

"10,000 Euro...... a month!..."

Silly me, and I have studied hard years and years for my degrees, I should have become a French barber....

the man doesn't even have 10,000 hairs on his head left, to warrant such cost....

So typical of people in powerful positions, no shame.

Typifies the attitude of the Eurocrats. Quite willing to spunk the poor taxpayers funds on his syrup, meanwhile harp on about austerity for the indigenous peoples and throwing huge sums of money on enemy nations such as Turkey. This sort of news plays very well for upcoming referendums on EU membership and is also timely for Mr Nate Hofer who can only benefit from this fiasco and arrogance.

I glad my taxes are not going to pay for this dick.

Are you telling me he also has someone on the payroll looking after that part of his anatomy as well?

Do you know the salary, pretty sure what ever it is, it is not enough!

Well a couple of hundred years ago he would, at least, have looked nice for his meeting with Madame Guillotine.

You can also get a 10,000 Baht haircut in Thailand, but it comes with all the "trimmings" and miscellaneous extras

You are being over charged;-)

No, he's being clipped.

I think there's a mistake in the title; it should be 10 euros. I mean, how could one spend 10,000 euros and look like that? gigglem.gif

Do we know that the French taxpayers are paying for his hairdresser? Perhaps he's paying for it out of his own money.

Who ultimately pays Hollande.?

Yes, but if he wasted his own money/pay on many other luxury items, it wouldn't be a headline.

He is entitled to spend his pay on anything he likes - which is why I think its important to know whether the cost of his hairdresser is claimed as expenses (on top of his pay), or whether the cost comes from his own pay.

Whether he's paid too much (and can therefore afford to pay this sort of money for a hairdresser) is an entirely different argument.

The Brits are so lucky to be getting out of an organization run by the likes of this fool.

You can't push austerity down peoples throats, and waste money like this.

If he had a full head of hair would it have been 20K euros a month?

Only Socialist way mate.

Very clearly this has nothing to do with socialism.

Costs are so high because there is a searrch fee involved.

Yet ironically Hollande claims to.
