July 14, 20169 yr I have neuropathic pain in my legs and feet (numbness and tingling)– this seems to be an outcome of nerve irritation in my lower back. I am looking for recommendations for treatment options. Thanks in advance for sharing ideas.
July 14, 20169 yr You don't say where you are in Thailand. Have you consulted already with a Thai doctor? Hospital? There some hits for a Google for: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=neuropathic%20pain%20thailand Mac

July 15, 20169 yr I am a long term sufferer of Neuropathic pain in both legs. Most doctors indicate a lack of blood flow to the legs,Most common with long term smokers.Even artery bipass did not help much. Lefty
July 15, 20169 yr Have you had investigations like Nerve Conduction Studies, MRI of lumber spine, check up from Neurologist? If not I suggest you try to find out the cause of the problem. If it is nerve pain then as a previous poster said try gabapentin or even pregbalin (which is far, far more expensive), duloxetine works for some, but your first line should be trying to get a diagnosis.
July 15, 20169 yr Author Thanks for the replies. I have consulted with an orthopedic Dr and osteopath. It seems I have a back & hip sports injury that affects the nerve function to the legs - all the way to the soles of my feet. Lyrica (pregbalin) does provide some relief. Does anyone have recommendations for a pain management clinic or Dr that specializes in pain management?

July 15, 20169 yr I always go back to the Merck Manual, if you read this and have more questions, please ask.... http://www.merckmanuals.com/professional/musculoskeletal-and-connective-tissue-disorders/neck-and-back-pain/sciatica
July 15, 20169 yr Treatment options will depend upon the nature of the back injury. In some cases surgical decompression is both possible and the only way to resolve the problem. I suggest you consult a good spinal specialist. If you are in or near Bangkok I suggest Dr. Wicharn at the BNH hospital spine center.
