BANGKOK: -- Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) commissioner says the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police now have substantial evidence to link the fishy share transfer of a billionaire contractor to two girls and his mysterious death in a van crash in June last year.

Pol Lt Gen Thitirat Nongharnpitak’s affirmation of the connection of the two cases came after the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Police General Hospital has tested DNA samples collected from the house of the girl, Ms Uracha Watchirakulthon, a stock broker, accused in the illegal share transfer case, showed genetic relation between her 3-month-old baby girl and the former deputy commerce minister Pol Lt Col Banyin Tangphakorn.

The former minister is now charged in a murder conspiracy over the death of the billionaire, Chuwong Sae Tang, in a suspicious van crash which he was the driver and the billionaire seated on the left.

The CIB commissioner said circumstantial evidence now affirmed that the two cases have a link.

He said DNA samples collected from baby items in the room of Ms Uracha’s house in Bangkok showed genetic relation between the baby and the former minister.

This indicated the father of the baby is the former minister, he said.

Earlier both the former minister and Ms Uracha denied having intimated relation saying they just have normal relation between stock broker and stock investor.

Ms Uracha received almost 40 million baht from the billionaire in a suspicious share transfer before his mysterious death in the van crash.

Earlier the former minister also threatened a law suit against the police for taking his DNA samples to compare with those of the baby without his consent.

But the former minister was arrested last month at a luxury resort in Khao Yai by CSD police for murder conspiracy charge over the death of the billionaire. The stock broker Ms Uracha was also found with him at the resort.

CIB commissioner said the police have the right as they are investigating both the suspicious share transfer worth over 300 million baht by the billionaire to two girls before his death, and the mysterious car crash which killed him.

He revealed one of the significant circumstantial evidence was the simulation of the crash using the same model of van at the scene and the car speed given by the former minister at the time of accident.

The simulation indicated it was impossible that the passenger could die from the crash when it appeared that the vehicle was slightly damaged.

Moreover the speed earlier given by the former minister was hardly possible for driver to be able to swerve into the soi without hitting the pavement, and go for over a hundred metres before ramming at the tree.

CSD police also obtained mobile phone records showing contacts of both the minister and the broker indicating they are not normal friends.

He expected the CSD police would link murder conspiracy case with the suspicious share transfer in which four persons were involved in a matter of few months.

Given his wealth, I'm sure he will be out on bail...TIT.. If you've got bags of money, the laws of the land doesn't apply..whistling.gif

about time the police did something right, this has had a stink to it since it happened. Hopefully the police will now charge all of those involved with murder, for some reason the females always seem to get away with things here, maybe they do more than offer money.......

I agree that the case seems obvious, and closure for the family would be welcomed, as would any return of any remaining (non-pilfered) money; however, I don't agree that the investigators should be rewarded for actually, finally, doing their job.

"CSD police also obtained mobile phone records showing contacts of both the minister and the broker indicating they are not normal friends."

Normal friends? They must have been abnormal friends? What does it mean?

Reminds me of the Canadian in jail in Indonesia. According to the judge, he was a peadophile. Part of the evidence the judge used to conclude the case was the assumption that he was not a normal man because a normal man would have sex with his wife 3-4 times per week. Evidence was submitted to the court that he had sex with his wife only one time per week, sometimes even less than that!! Therefore he must have been satisfying himself with the children he was teaching.

Not saying the Canadian was a crook or not, but that sort of 'evidence' based on the 'norms' is totally useless and should not be used.

Same with this claim that these two were not 'normal' friends. Not permissable evidence.
