Oasis and Witherspoons

Featured Replies

A couple of expats and myself had a disagreement about what used to be where Witherspoons is now. I'm positive it used to be a restaurant but cannot remember its name but someone else said it was an internet cafe.

Also which was the first GGB in the area, Oasis or Champagne?

Can anyone help.

Oasis used to be Chow Soy Chinese restaurant.........its now round the corner in Soi Chaiyaphum

Witherspoons cant remember.....................coffee1.gif

Champagne opened 2005

Oasis 2006

Witherspoons cant remember..

That's the one we got the most hot under the collar about. I remember it being a glass fronted, air conditioned restaurant. I even remember having a pork chop chips and peas in there but my pal was having none of it and said it was an internet shop with a ping pong table in the centre.

Funnily enough we saw Chow Soy John going in the Family Mart opposite Subway when we were discussing the matter.

That's it Wobbly. I just could not for the life of me remember its name.

The Lobby! That'll shut my chum up.

Cheers.

The first Go go bar in the immediate area was called Paradise, it was a little further down Soi Buakhao, the owner American Bill, closed it down and then opened Oasis, and since he was run out of town and it has Thai management.

witherspoons was an open air restaurant/breakie place at first with a small bit upstairs towards the rear.

oasis was a chinese restaurant but when it was first occupied it was a steak place called something like "the buffalo" but that was a long time ago.

Great thread!
