Bangkok Taxi Driver Arrested for Indecent Act on Teenage Passenger
Picture coutresy of KhaoSod A 62-year-old taxi driver in Bangkok has been arrested following allegations of committing an indecent act against a 15-year-old girl. The arrest, directed by Police Major General Witthaya Sriprasertphap, involved a team led by Police Colonel Manoon Kaewkam and Police Lieutenant Colonel Rueangwit Duangjinda. The driver, identified as Chamnarn, was apprehended in the Sala Thammasop area of Thawi Watthana district, following a complaint filed by the victim, referred to as B for privacy. The incident occurred after B took a taxi from a shopping centre in Ratchathewi district to Wang Thonglang district. According to the victim, the journey began with Chamnarn discussing politics but soon shifted to topics of a sexual and vulgar nature, making her uncomfortable and anxious to reach her destination. Upon arriving, Chamnarn allegedly touched her right thigh, leaving her frightened. She quickly paid and exited the taxi. B reported the incident to her guardians, who accompanied her to file a report at Wang Thonglang Police Station. Authorities collected evidence and issued an arrest warrant for Chamnarn, who was subsequently taken into custody. During his interrogation, Chamnarn denied any wrongdoing, attributing his age as a reason for his disinterest in such acts. He insisted his actions were meant to be affectionate, comparing them to how one might treat a grandchild. Nonetheless, he was surprised by the legal proceedings initiated against him. Chamnarn has been transferred to Wang Thonglang Police Station where further legal action will be taken as the investigation continues. The case serves as a grave reminder of the importance of safety and appropriateness in professional interactions. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The Thaiger 2025-05-19 -

Joe Biden Diagnosed with Aggressive Cancer
As much as I dislike Biden and think he was perhaps the worst president in U.S. history, I wish him well and hope he recuperates as cancer is a horrible way to die. Now suppose Biden was re-elected and the U.S. faces his imminent death with Kamala stepping into the Presidency, oh my, that is a horrible thought. -
