Labor Min to survey available jobs amid rising demand for workers

BANGKOK, 20 July 2016 (NNT) – The Ministry of Labor is ready to conduct a new survey on job vacancies after acknowledging that employers are in need of more workers.

Permanent Secretary for Labor ML Puntrik Smiti disclosed that all units of the ministry have been instructed by Labor Minister Gen Sirichai Distakul to compile an up-to-date report on job vacancies. She said the move is in response to operators’ current demand for 38,000-45,000 additional workers per month.

In May, operators declared 38,806 job openings to the Ministry of Labor, increasing by 2,213 openings or 6 percent from the same period last year.

Those searching for job opportunities or looking to take on a new career are encouraged to contact Employment Offices across the country or call hotline 1694.

New survey, eh? Sounds like jobs for the boys.

How about fewer taxi drivers and security guards, and put them to work in real jobs .

Most likely those jobs are day's laborers at menial labor, i.e. hard work, minimum pay, something that Thais

are not big fan of, more suited for neighboring countries workers.....

...well what do you expect when a reported 2 million workers are hired illegally...annually....???

...this is insane.....

My g/f is 26 speaks and UNDERSTANDS fluent English is well mannered but has no university degree. She knowledgeable in how to run a business not one where 40 workers stand around on their mobiles while 5 do most of the work. She tells me she could not get a decent paying job. I guess like TAT maybe they got their numbers crossed.
