Republican Convention Day 2: Damage control

As President, Donald Trump Could Purge U.S. Government Of Obama Appointees

"Reuters published an exclusive report today which suggests that if Trump is elected president, he would take legal steps to purge the federal government of Obama appointees..

A point the media surely misses, is that this idea would be heartily embraced by people who support Trump. In fact, it’s one of the keys to Trump’s success in this election."

Well, that's good news isnt it? smile.png

Well yea, that's great news for Trump fans who want to see the US devolve to the United States of Redneckia. Judging from the people Trump has picked to lead his failing campaign and the pretty women who are his spokespeople, Trump is incapable of picking capable people for important positions. He may appoint Junior for Secretary of the Interior, so Jr. can oversee the National Park Service opened to mining/logging and various animal farms for big game hunters. He can appoint Melania to head the Library of Congress, and appoint Ivanka to head the Girl Scouts, where she can get all the girls sewing Trump clothes for $14/day, to bring those jobs back from China.

Besides Chris Christi's dynamite speech Trumps boy delivered a barn-burner! smile.png

Donald Trump Jr. - AMERICA GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE! Republican National Convention

Extremely articulate don't you think? smile.png

Wait a cottonpickenminute. How can America be great? Jr's daddy had been shouting at us for a year telling us how screwed up America is. Oh, I get it, America will be 'greater than ever before' when the Trumps are in the WH. Oh, ok, sure. Maybe they'll turn the WH grounds into a game park with large vegetarian beasts roaming around - so they can get up and shoot a few (from the windows?) dead before breakfast.

"Hey greatest dad in the world, would you like some fried elephant tail with your scrambled condor eggs? Dearest leader? Oh Wise One who is great with debt and knows a lot of words."

CLEVELAND (AP) - Delegates at the Republican convention boo Texas Sen. Ted Cruz after he ends speech without endorsing Donald Trump.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) sought to spin the Cruz eruption, telling the crowd they’d misunderstood his point.

“Ted Cruz said you can vote your conscience for anyone who will uphold this constitution. In this election there is only one candidate that will uphold this constitution,” he said.

"people are angry" "hillary is dishonest"

That is just a stupid campaign slogan. Right wing morons repeat that nonsense they hear on FOX.

Actually, America is is great shape.

Unemployment under 4.9%.

Stock market at all time high. (and 225 million retirement, pension accounts, )

Exports at all time high.

Housing inventory at all time low.

Strong dollar.

Dependency on foreign oil at all time low.

Military at full strength.

Deficit dropping under 500 bilion. (1+ trillion under GWBush)

The republicans want to go back to the golden age of 2008 & GW Bush. LOL

Don't you love how disheveled the convention is. Cruz is supposed to be a great speaker (from a Rep perspective), yet the talker who follows him has to qualify what Cruz says. If this was a sketch from Saturday Night Live, it would be rather funny. But this is GOP reality, warts and phlegm.

Trump often references his college days at Whatron school.

Even Donald Jr. mentioned Wharton in his speech.

Funny thing is, Wharton School denounced Trump weeks ago.

"You Do Not Represent Us: An Open Letter to Donald Trump

At the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, students are taught to represent the highest levels of respect and integrity. We are taught to embrace humility and diversity. We can understand why, in seeking Americas highest office, you have used your degree from Wharton to promote and lend legitimacy to your candidacy.

As a candidate for President, and now as the presumptive GOP nominee, you have been afforded a transformative opportunity to be a leader on national and international stages and to make the Wharton community even prouder of our school and values.

However, we have been deeply disappointed in your candidacy."

As everyone predicted (except for the slurping Trump fanboys), this convention has turned into a raging dumpster fire. As a life long Republican I am stunned, angry, and embarrassed.

The RNC needs to immediately halt any funding to Trump's campaign and put every single dime into trying to retain the senate. The White House is lost but there is still a slight hope for the senate.

And the worst part is that it really didn't have to be this way. Against many other Republican candidates Secretary Clinton would have been vulnerable the and senate would have almost certainly stayed in Republican control.

Congratulations, Trump fanboys. Welcome to 4 more years that will be the same as the last 8.

Cruz is making his play for 2020 as he knows trump will lose. Cruz is a total creep but endorsing a man that has insulted you and your relatives in such disgusting ways is too much to ask.

But I think Cruz is finished. Assuming trump loses, Pence is the new Cruz. Just as far right wing, but not personally CREEPY as Cruz is. That's why Pence took VP. He was going to lose in the race for Indiana governor reelection and that would finish his career. This losing VP run with trump sets him up well for 2020. It won't be Pence that loses, it will be trump. Everyone knows they are very different politically.

Hardly likely that the US would have any friends with DJT as President.

You've completely missed the point. Trump's nomination (and this dumpster fire of a convention) has assured her victory in November. Had it not been for the poorly informed, frothing at the mouth Trump fanboys, the Republicans could have nominated a candidate who would have had a legitimate chance of winning the election. And because of that, all of President Obama's policies that go directly against conservative principles, will be further entrenched for at least another four years. And it's Trump and his fanboys who are to blame.

UCS, you make it sound like Republicans losing the Senate is a bad thing. Really? Do you want 4 to 8 more years of chronic foot-dragging by devoid-of-good-ideas Republican law breakers makers? I see it as a breath of fresh air when the whole load of do-nothing Reps are voted out.

Oh come on now, give the guy some credit. He'll probably get along great with Zimbabwe's prez, and Syria's dictator, and China's Li (when they can figure out how they can both make a lot of money on inside deals). Actually China's Li and Trump have a lot in common: they both dis anyone who is not adulatory. Beijing is doing it re; the unfavorable finding about the SCS ("the five judges were unqualified and biased"). It's like they're reading from the same playbook: Anyone who doesn't praise me is an enemy to cast aspersions at.

if what you say is true, then why have Trump's rating increased since the RNC? Watch also the blue line in the graph.
