A convicted British child sex offender, who was arrested by immigration police last week in Siem Reap, was deported yesterday, an immigration official said.

Damien Midgley, 39, was put on a plane to the UK at Phnom Penh Interna-tional Airport at 8:15am escorted by British police officers, said Uk Hai Sela, chief investigator at the Immigration Department.

He is expected to appear at York Crown Court this morning – the same court where he was originally sentenced to six years in jail, according to a court notification
