BANGKOK:-- An Uzbek woman has been arrested in Bangkok on charges related to human trafficing, police announced on Saturday.

Nigora Akhmedova was arrested at a condo on Sukhumvit Soi 77, Tourist Pol Col Archayon Kraithong confirmed.

Akhmedova is accused of trafficking other Uzbek women to Southeast Asia and is wanted by Interpol.

The arrest came after Police in Uzbekistan had contacted their Thai counterparts to inform them they believed Akhmedova had fled to Thailand.

Investigating officers for the Metropolitan Police, Tourist Police and Immigration found that Akhmedova had entered the country a number of times as a tourist and believe she had been hiding in Thailand since April this year.

While being paraded in front of the media on Saturday, Akhmedova who denies the charges against her, complained of feeling dizzy and appeared to faint. She claims she had been in Thailand to buy items to sell online but police have not yet found any evidence that she ran an online business.

Pol Col Archayon said that Akhmedova played a key role in the trafficking of women from Uzbekistan into the sex trades in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Akhmedova is currently being held at an Immigration detention centre before she is deported from Thailand.

Wow straight out of the lady Gai book of excuses 101.

First plead not guilty next set pick a medical condition . Fainting is a good start with a few chest pains.

Fast learner or an expericenced pro?

Anyway another scumbag off the streets.

Thank you Interpol and Uzbekistan police for pursuing this woman. Without Interpol and Uzbekistan police I doubt RTP would have any interest suspecting her illegal activities.

Seems like all her girls are working in Mixx or Shock

...a protected profession...???

police efficient on cases when it comes to foreigners, but when its someone of their own?

As Srikcir observes above (#3), and as demonstrated time and time again, Thai police receive a tip-off, or another nations police provide pertinent information to facilitate an arrest, and the local boy's bathe themselves in ostentatious glory while jostling among themselves to get in the gloat-agraph!

Does being deported from Thailand mean that she will also be handed over to Interpol (or the Uzbekistan police)?

Meanwhile, Lady Chicken will probably avoid any punishment for ruining anyone's life, but get a lengthy jail term for pretending to be important when she wasn't.

But who am I to be indignant about unfairness and inequality. I'm just a tax paying, law abiding immigrant.

another component of network.

it appears that a lot of illegal activities are committed

by over stayers.first course of action to solve some of the

crime may be to tackle this problem.

police efficient on cases when it comes to foreigners, but when its someone of their own?

Right. A long and drawn out investigation that usually vanishes over time.

Seems like all her girls are working in Mixx or Shock

or passing out fliers and leaflets on walking street.

RTP would have no reason to suspect her of anything.

As soon as the Uzbek police informed the RTP that she was wanted in Uzbekistan, not Thailand, they started an investigation. Your thanks should be directed to RTP, they were the ones that found her.
