Sanit finally named the new metropolitan police commissioner

BANGKOK: -- Acting metropolitan police commissioner Pol Lt-Gen Sanit Mahathavorn was finally appointed the new commissioner of city police by the Police Service Commission on Wednesday.

The Police Service Commission also named Pol Lt-Gen Veerapong Choenpakdee, former commissioner of 9th regional police bureau, who was recently transferred to an inactive post at the operations centre of the National Police Office, the commissioner attached to the National Police Office – a post previously held by Pol Lt-Gen Sanit.

The commission also approved several appointments in the police force. Among them are Pol Maj-Gen Kriskorn Pleethunyawong who is now commander of Saraburi provincial police, Pol Maj-Gen Thiti Saengsawang, who is named commander of Songkhla provincial police and Pol Maj-Gen Itthipol Itthisarnronnachai who is appointed commander of Samut Sakon provincial police.
