Featured Replies

A Thai national was arrested by the Interior Ministry’s Anti-Drug Police in Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok district on Monday evening for allegedly transporting three kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from the Cambodia-Laos border for sale in the capital. Lieutenant General Khieu Saman, chief of the anti-drug police department at the Interior Ministry, said 52-year-old Sai Yaphong Saiphan had been arrested in Trapaing Chhouk village in Sen Sok’s Teuk Thla commune on Monday at about 6:15pm.

“He was arrested inside a taxi while he was transporting drugs from the Lao border to Phnom Penh,” he said. “After his arrest, police seized three big packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing three kilograms from him,” he added.

Lt. Gen. Saman said the suspect was being detained for further questioning by the anti-drug department at the Interior Ministry. He was accused of drug trafficking and will be sent to the municipal court after being questioned by police.
