PM chairs informal meeting to acknowledge the referendum result   

 

 

BANGKOK: -- The cabinet held an informal meeting this morning to hear the deputy prime minister in charge of legal affairs briefing on yesterday's charter referendum and what to do next.

 

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha chaired the informal meeting today before tomorrow’s formal meeting.

 

Deputy prime minister Dr Wissanu Krea-ngam briefed the prime minister and cabinet ministers on guidance they have to do next after the draft charter on approval from the people.

 

Meanwhile the National Council for Peace and Order today called for all sides to respect the decision of the people after the charter was approved.

 

Call for cooperation came as there was still some people who claimed that referendum result did not truly reflect the majority of the people as it did not allow free expression of ideas before the vote.

 

The NCPO assured no abuse of human rights regarding the arrest of those violating the referendum law, saying they all will be treated under the justice system.

The NCPO assured no abuse of human rights regarding the arrest of those violating the referendum law, saying they all will be treated under the justice system.

 

 

Ah, the good ol' "NCPO" ... still clueless as ever.

I think the problem with the NCPO is they consider Human Rights abuse to relate only to the way in which someone is arrested, detained and convicted.

They fail to see that it is an abuse of rights to arrest someone for having a different opinion in the first place !!

 

Lack of basic education I reckon

Looking at the photograph on the OP and reading your post conjures up a deeply disturbing and truly bizarre image!

 

Show some respect Kid, these are the team who headed up the effort which counted, collated, verified and announced the results from somewhere around 100,000 polling stations in under 4 hours! Truly an awesome achievement, and one which can only be regarded as a milestone , a new high indeed in the noble record of democratic achievements!

Congrats to whoever won. 

Did anyone really expect any other outcome considering it was illegal to discuss openly, freely and fairly the constitution. Unless of course you were voting yes.

The referendum was rigged right from the beginning right up until the end.
