RIO DE JANEIRO: -- Sukanya Srisurat won gold medal with Olympic record 110kg in the snatch, before lifting 130kg in the clean and jerk.

While Pimsiri Sirikaew won silver in the same category and this is her second Olympic silver after winning silver in London games 4 years ago.

Thai athletes now win four Olympics medals in Rio 2016, all from weightlifting.

Are you sure they are women, they look like men.  Maybe the headline is wrong

Only a snatch and grab would prove that

Congratulation to these fine athletes, for accomplishing something truly extraordinary. Thailand is not well known as a world leader in sports. So, this is a great feat! LET'S GO THAILAND!

Sure, ha ha

There is irony in the fact that Thai women are seen as delicate and petite yet they excel in, of all things, weightlifting. And another sport in which the country has some success in the Olympics is boxing, despite Thais having a strong dislike for confrontation. Can't get more confrontational than boxing.

We must be looking at that photo with a completely different perspective. I think the one on the right is very cute. Yes, the one in the middle looks a bit tough, but she lifted 200KG! Can you do that?

Yes unfortunately the doping ban before olympics certainly tarnishes the achievement. Having said that the athlete has served the ban and won legitimately based on the current IOC rules.

I was commenting in a cynical manner on the earlier post

May I assume that your post also relates to that male supremists' utterance ?
