Chiang Rai man donating kidney to mom as present for Mother's Day

CHIANG RAI, 11 August 2016 (NNT) - A 28 year old-man has decided to donate one of his kidneys to save his mother as she is suffering from renal failure.

According to a report, Mr. Yuthasart Suay-nagrm will give his kidney to his mother, Mrs. Ulai Suay-ngarm, after having to see her go through dialysis treatments weekly at Chiang Rai Prachanukorh Hospital. He said it was his present to her in celebration of the upcoming Mother’s Day.

A kidney transplant will take place tomorrow (Aug 12) at the hospital. An internist at Chiang Rai Prachanukorh Hospital, Dr. Panjapol Korbpuengton, said he is confident the surgery will be a successful one, adding that Mrs. Ulai will be able to recover quickly as the kidney she is receiving is from a live person.

August 12th marks National Mather's Day in Thailand.
