BANGKOK:-- Four people – alll of them Thais – were killed and 35 others injured in a spate of bomb attacks in seven southern provinces on Thursday night and Friday, deputy permanent secretary of public health Dr Pranom Kamthiang announced Friday.

 

In a tele-conference with hospitals in eight provinces, she gave the details of the casualties as follows: one killed and seven injured in Trang; two dead and 24 injured in Hua Hin of Prachuab Khiri Khan; one dead and three injured in Surat Thani; one injured in Phuket. Seven were injured in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Krabi, Phang-nga and Ranong.

 

Dr Pranom said all the hospitals in southern provinces were told to be on the alert to prepare necessary equipments and medical supplies as well as blood so they will be able to provide emergency medical treatment to victims of bomb explosions until the situation has returned to normal.

 

She also said that the government would take care of all the medical expenses for bomb victims.
