Police Checkpoints With New Criminal Detection Mobile App Goes Live in Pattaya

 

 

PATTAYA: -- On the night of August 15 the Chonburi provincial Police, with assistance from the Tourist Police Dept and over one hundred volunteers, set up two crime prevention checkpoints on the main highway in and out of Pattaya.

 

One was in front of the Floating Market and the other at the Djittabhawan Temple. All vehicles were searched for weapons, drugs and bomb making materials.

 

A new application is being used which records ‘the history of high risk groups’ that is connected to a police database. Anybody with a criminal record can now be immediately identified and a list of offences is displayed on the app.

It's the GT200 version. Works like a charm - identifies crims by smell, then one end dips a couple of times (like a water diviner) to inform the officer that there's a crim present. The difficulty is, one end won't stop dipping ..... 

Elwood: Man, I haven't been pulled over in six months. I bet those cops have got "SCMODS".

Jake: "SCMODS?"

Elwood: "State/County/Municipal Offender Data System."

Now ...can they use the same technology to hook up to the Immigration database? 

Looked more like they were all just playing Pokemon Go.

So Thailand Police are getting their antiquated data system up to 21st standards and instead of the TVF being glad in the fact, they simply find more cause for complaint. 

 

Gotta love this place.
