I've searched the forum to see whether this has already been posted but it comes up negative. Maybe that is down to the new site design, whatever, apologies if it's already up.

A midwife from London died on the first day of a dream holiday in Thailand after falling from the back of a moving motorised rickshaw, known as a tuk-tuk, an inquest heard today.

Happened in Phuket last year but I would think the comments regarding the lack of specialist equipment on board the ambulance and at the first receiving hospital would be pretty much the same anywhere in Thailand. I wonder how many tourists take into account that as far as the emergency services are concerned, the lack of training and equipment, that Thailand is still very much a third world country.
