kbelyeu
TV, During my last visa run to Savannakhet we stayed at the Savan Casio using their van service. They offer free Tiger draft beer in the Casio and the rooms are very cheap. Kurt

I booked using Agoda but you can also book at the welcome center on the Thai side of the friendship bridge (next to the over night parking complex). https://www.facebook.com/pages/Welcome-Center-Savan-Vegas-Hotel/654833174546288 The van runs from the welcome center to the Savan Vegas hotel and return to the welcome center. We used a Tuktuk from the hotel to the consulate to drop off our paperwork then paid a guy 1500 baht to receive my passport back at 10AM delivered to the hotel. sapson
Been going their for years, initially they had a visa run package but not for last couple of years. Cheapest rooms register as a player you get a card but don't have to play, are 995 baht with free breakfast buffet coupons and possibly dinner and lunch if you are charming at check in. Free beer as mentioned if you sit by a machine and look like you are playing or might do in the next hour or so and if you tip a little baht those beers keep coming. and coming............slightly merry and tempted to gamble best of luck because, well read on. All games are shall we say far from being random, in fact rig@@d ! with the exception of tiger/dragon a simple even money card game. Not the place to go expecting to gamble with only lady lucks good mood required to win, you wont. Great fun place for the guys ................loads of eye candy, good quality massage spa and small gym and a Karaoke Club. However 7kms from the riverfront and the town so not much to do for more than a night etc ,unless youre happy paying 300/400 baht up for the tuk tuk mafia for any trip. Going solo ok fun for a night, with the wife probably better off at the Avalon or down at a riverfront hotel. Wi-Fi in the rooms very very sporadic so if your are serious about internet access then you will be very peeved. Although advertised their isn't any longer a functioning swimming pool unless its been rebuilt in the last two months. All said a little tired and run down but does still have some charm..............
pubba
I went last year and had a good 3 days at the casino. It's definitley a little worn out but the room was big and bed was comfortable. I found a driver that took me to and from the consulate and didn't charge me crazy prices. Just after checking out I had some good luck on a slot machine and ended up taking 50k baht home with me. Was very happy with that! I'll be heading back early next month to get a new 1 year marriage visa but don't expect to have the same luck as last time.
