Clinton: Trump health allegations a 'wacky strategy'

By LISA LERER

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hillary Clinton pushed back Monday against charges that she's physically unfit for the White House.

The Democratic presidential candidate said the accusations are part of a "wacky strategy" by GOP rival Donald Trump and an "alternative reality" that's not focused on the kinds of issues that are most important to voters.

"I do feel sometimes like this campaign has entered into an alternative universe," she said in an appearance on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" taped Monday afternoon. "I have to step into the alternative reality and, you know, answer questions about, am I alive, how much longer will I be alive, and the like."

Clinton said she doesn't question Trump's health — she believes he's "healthy as a horse."

"This has become one of their themes," she said. "Make sure I'm alive."

The comments marked the first time Clinton has addressed debunked rumors about her health, which have been encouraged by Trump and his backers.

Much of the speculation stems from a concussion Clinton sustained in December 2012 after fainting, an episode her doctor has attributed to a stomach virus and dehydration.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani urged voters to "go online and put down 'Hillary Clinton illness,'" in an interview with Fox News on Sunday, saying the next morning that she "looks sick." Trump has questioned her stamina at campaign rallies and speeches, saying in a foreign policy address earlier this month that she "lacks the mental and physical stamina to take on ISIS".

Clinton expressed little concern Monday about the planned release of 15,000 additional State Department emails that went previously undisclosed during an FBI investigation into her use of a private server as secretary of state. The messages could become public in mid-October, just weeks before Election Day.

"My emails are so boring," she told Kimmel. "We've already released 30,000 plus, so what's a few more?"

She joked about photos showing her husband, former President Bill Clinton, smiling and looking overjoyed to be surrounded by the balloons that fell at the end of the Democratic National Convention.

"We were all pretty excited about the balloons," she said. "That's one of the things I enjoy about my husband is that he enjoys so many things and balloons is one of them."

When asked about her preparations for the three debates with Trump, Clinton said she's taking the match-up seriously but is getting ready for "wacky stuff."

Boon Mee once again, lapping up the wacky stories from Drudge, Breibart and Alex Jones and regurgitating them.

Drudge Report misleads readers with Hillary Clinton photo

"Clinton slipped on some stairs while campaigning in South Carolina ahead of the February 27 primary"

"The blog post failed to note that the photos were six months old,
or that the Getty caption indicated that Clinton simply slipped while walking up the stairs.”

"The blog post was all Drudge needed to splash the photos across the home page of his hugely popular tip sheet."

Once again, the wacky Lemmings demonstrate their ignorance.

They've said it over and over again in their heads.

Until they believe it.

No one else does...

They got nothin’.

trump is desperate.

Remember the birthers?

That was trump too.

If you can’t beat ’em, you can at least hope they have to withdraw for medical reasons.

The last two weeks have seen a steady increase in innuendo by supporters of Donald Trump who claim—without evidence—that Hillary Clinton is frail, unhealthy, or on the verge of physical collapse. The rumors, spread by voices ranging from the conspiracy theorist radio host Alex Jones to former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, represent a sort of updated birtherism for the 2016 election: a fervent hope for a deus ex machina that will rescue a struggling candidate by disqualifying his opponent.

Geez, even Newt Gingrich--an avid Clinton-hater--dismisses these claims...

[The former Speaker then went on to say he is "always dubious" when a doctor who has never treated a patient gives a "complicated, fancy-sounding analysis."]

Trump strategists are in frantic mode.  They look at the polls and realize they've got an ice cube's chance in hell of winning.  They change staff faster than a cross country airline crew.  Their spokespeople get so tangled in trying to make sense of Trump's ridiculous assertions ....and then day's later, Trump says he was kidding about what he originally said.  So all the drawn-out verbal contortions of his red-faced spokespeople were for naught.   Trump's spokespeople should get combat pay, because every time they're interviewed, they get hyper defensive or offensive.  Never a comfortable even-handed interview.   They only want softball Fox-Hannity questions, like; "Is Trump a good deal maker?"

Presidential candidates should be debating issue specs.  Instead, Trump attacks his opponents' looks.  The Trump campaign is backed in a corner with chalk slugs in their guns.  Their powder is moist.  They got nuthin' but flaccid attack strategies.  Sad.

Oh Hillary...just do it like the Donald: get a fake doctor, to write a fake letter, stating that you are in tremendous health, actually the best health any human being can be in...and everything will be okay!

This is your idea of a high level expert. Anyway, here's snopes.com on the subject:

Again, however, all this second-guessing was based on Pinsky's reading of a brief, two-page summary of the state of Hillary Clinton's health. In the end, after saying twice that he was "gravely concerned" by what he read in the document, he seemed to contradict himself: "It’s not so much that her health is a grave concern," Pinsky admitted (using the phrase a third time). "It’s that the care she’s getting could make it a concern."

Earlier, you called her a grandmother, as if that's supposed to be degrading (It's not).

Now you're flocking with Trump's sheeple to try and paint a picture of HRC as being less than vigorous.  Low class.

If Trump were campaigning against FDR, he'd be denigrating him non-stop for being a cripple.

A little blow-back:  Remember when Trump avoided the draft FIVE TIMES for a bone spur?  No matter than Trump now can't remember which foot it was.  How about: during those five deferments he was playing squash, tennis and other sports at his college.  He was too debilitated to get classified for US military service, but he was actively playing sports at the same time.

Some say this video is proof that her mental facilities aren't nearly good enough to serve as POTUS, but whatever the reason for it, here is what a basic heckler in the crowd does to her. She freezes up and one of her security people has to relax her and reminder to just keep talking. If the woman can't handle a bit of heckling without freezing and being basically incapacitated, how could she possibly handle the stress of even leading a pack of girl scouts? She's also known to have had some seizures and sometimes needs substantial help with her mobility climbing stairs, etc.

But as she'll just be sitting there taking orders and signing what she's told to, it probably doesn't matter if she's not mush more than a vegetable.

She finishes with, "Trump and his kids have killed a lot of animals." What a class act she is.

I'd like to see Trump do one push-up...or maybe Melania could give a testimonial as to his stamina ???

Trump looks overweight to me.  Perhaps he eats large chunks of Trump cow meat 3 meals a day.  Did you know that cow meat is tough to digest takes a long time to go through the tubes, sometimes getting putrid for several days in the gut.  Maybe that would partly explain why Trump so often speaks noxiously.

He also sells vodka, but considers it too toxic for himself.

You got evidence for that? Please, show me where snopes.com has been torn apart?  They are very scrupulous and regularly defend left, right and center from scurrilous attacks.

Nobody likes to see poor Hillary in such obvious distress. Having any kind of seizure or convulsion fit is traumatic enough even in safe and appropriate surroundings such as a hospital bed. Having seizures while standing, giving highly important speeches must be dreadful. Good to note one of her personal medical team is constantly hovering next to her ready to give her a jab of diazepam to stop (further) brain damage which can occur through her seizures. She needs a good rest and to carefully consider her long term health.

Rather than prove the Trumps wrong with some real evidence they'll just call it  wacky. Not very convincing.

Yeah right...that is BS!

The burden of prove is on the side of Trump and his truther-movement and his disciples!

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence!

One video of an older lady, missing a step on a stair is NOT evidence...at all...let alone extraordinary!

Otherwise, I claim that Trump is a 6 legged alien from Cancer Nebular.

Don't call me wacky: prove that I am wrong!

It's part of running for office to prove to the public you are capable to do the job. Trump has put doubt on Clinton's ability to do it. If there's no problem and she's as healthy as she clams it should be a simple enough thing to prove it and let the public know she is healthy and strong enough to handle such a stressful job, it would also make Trump look like a liar. The more she denies the more Trump looks like he's on to something. There's no wacky conspiracy theory going on here. She's an old woman with old woman problems, all Trump has done is bring it up for discussion.
