BANGKOK: -- Several foreign fugitives wanted in their home countries on fraud charges have been arrested by Thai immigration police this month.

They include three Chinese women, a Russian, a German and a Swiss man. One Frenchman wanted on rape charge for allegedly raping his own daughter born to his ex-wife has also been arrested.

The three Chinese women, 31-year old Mrs Wang Jiaian, 30-year old Mrs Zhang Jingjing and 32-year old Mrs Jiang Yuemei, were accused of cheating the Chinese government of taxes estimated at 210 million yuan or 1,050 million baht and smuggling of prohibited substances. They were arrested at Phuket International airport and at a condominium in Phuket on August 22/

42-year old Russian, Smolnikov Vasillii, who operates a construction business in Russia was wanted by the Interpol for government’s document forgery and for bribery charges has taken refuge in Thailand since January, 2556 with a tourist visa

Vasillii made several overseas trips from Bangkok until his arrest on August 22 in Sadao district of Songkhla.

On August 27, immigration police arrested a 67-year old Swiss man, Paul Strubin, on charges of embezzlement and fraud. A warrant for his arrest has been issued by a Swiss prosecutor.

Strubin has been hiding in Pattani since his arrival in Thailand on October 3, 2556.

Thai immigration officials said Strubin had overstayed his visa for 960 days.

58-year old Frenchman, Patrice Giuliana, is wanted in France after the court there sentenced him in absentia to 15 years in prison for raping his own daughter born to his ex-wife. He was arrested on August 27 in Bangkok.

Immigration Bureau commissioner Pol Lt-Gen Natthathorn Prohsunthorn said the bureau had revoked their visas and put them on the blacklist of people who pose a threat to the society.

Six down and 10,000 more to go, good on you BIB for cleaning the sewers of this

country from all those rats hiding here.....

What are the odds of these guys all having the same T-shirts? It must have made it easy for the police to find them all.

sure an excellent job by the police. it also goes to show how much is lying under the carpet. how did these people manage to over stay.

Seems they took one extra in case one escapes

Keep it up boys, there are plenty more to go at.

What puzzles me is how can a farang overstay  960 days then all of a sudden both he and several others are netted.

The guy who raped his own daughter should be held for some time in a Thai prison for further inquiries before being sent home.

I count seven ! Did someone fail basic maths?

And yet the real rich people who are really screwing over the world are given awards, accolades and have no fear of comebacks.

But they as long as we get a few 'rats', then everything is OK :)

Cool T-shirts. These would make great souvenirs of someone's trip to Thailand. Any of the street vendors selling them?

Good to see them catching up with some of the bad guys hiding out in Thailand.

I guess they were caught after listing their hangouts and social media contacts on their Foreigner Information forms.

(And the names of their deceased family would have been a real giveaway!)

Why?

If you think Thais will take any form of retribution you are misguided.

Thais in all these prisons DO NOT CARE what sentence has been committed and that includes rape, kiddy fiddling and so forth. It is laughable that so many clueless people on here recycle the same old ' chestnuts '  as " Wait till they get him in a Thai jail, Wait till he gets raped etc etc ' It VERY rarely happens unless the foreigner is a youngster, and therefore, it has nothing to do with the crime he committed. Thais are way too busy in their own corrupt little world in there to be bothered unless the foreigner is a nuisance, loudmouth or disturbs them directly.

They care only if the foreigner has enough money in his pocket in jail to buy black market phones, play black market gambling, and buy black market goods such as food and other items.

Also, they wait and see if he is a mug and they can ' tap him up ' for things such as cigarettes, washing powder, and other items Thais cannot afford or don't have the money for; as it has all been spent on drugs!

Perfect idea. And don't forget to tell the inmates what he did!

Just the typical TV headlines - near enough is good enough!

The story comes from Thai PBS, not TV.
TV does not change quotes from outside news agencies.

I counted six, because the one in the middle. with Cinderella slippers, really doesn't exist. He's  just a fairy tale.

Is it not that 6 are wanted by their own governments and the Frenchman was arrested because of an offence in Thailand?

Why is Thailand such a magnet for foreign  criminals?

From the OP:

'58-year old Frenchman, Patrice Giuliana, is wanted in France after the court there sentenced him in absentia to 15 years in prison for raping his own daughter born to his ex-wife. He was arrested on August 27 in Bangkok.'

Oh don't be so naive. I'll start believing they're serious rather than these occasional photo ops with 'international criminals' when they start rounding up the many farang having committed crimes inside the country on outstanding arrest warrants. Pony, meet the dog and show.

I suspect that the overstay is co - incidental. I imagine that the various  governments and their agencies who were after these people found them, and told the RTA where they were.

" They include three Chinese women, a Russian, a German and a Swiss man. One Frenchman wanted on rape charge . . ." But, what happened to the German?

It's laughable really, news in the UK is Philip Green will fill up the BHS pension fund if all investigations into him and his dealings are halted.

Bet he won't get to wear a Tshirt like that.

Good Job...Take out the trash!!!
