BANGKOK: -- The committee tasked with considering the civil liability of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra for the loss from her government’s controversial rice pledging scheme has already come up with the final figures of the loss.

Mr Manas Jamweha, director-general of the Comptroller’s General Department and chairman of the committee, said on Tuesday that a final report of the loss from the scheme would be submitted to Finance Minister Apisak Tantiworawong and Mr Somchai Satjapong, finance permanent secretary.

While declining to disclose the final figures of the loss, he said that, in his capacity as the head of the committee, he did not feel heavy-hearted for doing the job as everything was done in accordance with the law and could be clarified.

I hope the final figures include extraordinary like indirect tax & revenue gains like VAT, stamp duties etc, insurance claims, warehouse indemnity claims etc and even future loss due to the government delay in selling the rice.

Perhaps PTP's erstwhile Finance Minister "Mr. White Lies" will reveal the real financial accounts and show all the income and expenditure and where the money exactly went too.

Don't hold your breath Eric, and mind those flying pigs!

dont know if the insurance companies cover them for removing the rice and using scaffolding to fill up the empty spaces and just stacking bags around it, no controlled rodent/insect protection, no temperature control to stop mould, rice that was taken out the back door as it was coming in the front door repeatedly to up the figures, rice from other countries, rice that was sold at low prices then simply brought back in at high prices, should I go on or do you think this is not important enough or is it that it shoots your claims down in flames and shows the ptp and their mates up as corrupt
