Islamic State group: Turkey and US 'ready to invade capital'

ANKARA: -- Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has suggested he and the US are ready to drive so-called Islamic State (IS) from its Syrian stronghold of Raqqa.

Mr Erdogan said US President Barack Obama floated the idea of joint action against the militants when they met at the G20 summit in China.

He said Turkey would have "no problem" with such action.

Interesting though, they talk about illegally invading foreign countries as though it means nothing. Once upon a time that actually meant declaring war. Regardless of whether Assad is a tyrant, the media seems to have no problem in invading an annexing territory of other sovereign states.

Hypothetically then if Australia, with some clever PR and disinformation, declared the New Zealand government tyrants and terrorists then it could legally bomb NZ, invade and annex their territory and it wouldn't be considered an act of war. It would be an act of liberation and restoring democracy and freedom. I guess in the age of PC sack and pillage doesn't actually mean that any more.

Muslims fighting Muslims, what is so unusual about that. Maybe it's because the President is a Muslim? :whistling:

There were 500,000 troops sent to liberate Kuwait, along with "Storming Norman" in out job done !

Then to invade Iraq, never enough troops and the fast run to Baghdad with our cleaning out the cities on the way up. Never ending the corruption that now has taken over again.

Not stopping Assad from killing his own people to stay in power.

We, USA, should keep our noses out of these countries and if and when they bring their crap to our door step crush them like a cock roach !! We have never made the oil rich countries that support these terrorist pay a price for their involvement.

Too true !! Starting with Baptista in Cuba and down hill from there, the Politicians generally do not have pay for their mistakes.

I spent 26 years in the USAF and was in a few things I wonder what in the hell are we doing here ??

Another meaningless conflict

In the discussions in the Far East there has been talk

Let them bomb it out internally and no one interferes and sooner or later some tribes will shake hands etc and this will be over faster than all these groups all pursuing a different interest and arming them further
