midasthailand
My girlfriend recently returned to the Philippines to buy a house and sort some family issues, after spending 10 days there she went to the aiport to come back to Thailand and immigration refused to let her board her flight, she previously had a work permit here but does not currently have one. How is it possible for a country to stop a citizen with a valid ticket and passport from boarding a flight??

siam2007
this is nothing new, in fact, the Phils as a country is the world's biggest jail, almost same as the GDR in Europe during the socialist times.
mike2011
How old is your gf? The phils pride themselves of having prevented thousands of cases of trafficking in girls. They consider each refused exit a successfully prevented crime.... I guess she is over the 23 yrs limit. They suspect she is a hooker or something else not really nice. She could go to the immigration office to get an exit clearance. Maybe that helps. Also: She could buy herself a return ticket to Hongkong, together with a hotel reservation for the time period. Then fly from their to BKK. Problem: You do not know what is in the memo field of immigration. So best will be to visit local Phils immigration (hopefully not in Manila) and see what they say. Siam2007, hey, dont say bad things about the GDR. They had a functioning public transport, hospitals, pension system, universities, Schonefeld airport is still in use, etc. Go to the Phils and start looking for that. In short: the GDR would be paradise for pinoys. Honecker looked good compared with Duterte. For the travel problems: Most of the pinoys will never ever come close to owning a passport. GDR citizens were the nightmare of Bulgarian beaches while their FRG cousins successfully ruined Spain (and Franco deserved it...).
