Power Failure When Inside Elevator / Lift

Last night returning back to the condo complex after many hours making the rounds here in Bangkok, I experienced a first.  As soon as I got into the elevator (alone) and the doors shut, there was a power failure.  Talk about bad timing.  In my case after everything went black, about 10 seconds later I noticed the red LED floor indicator light up showing "G".  No other lighting came back on, but then the doors opened (I was not stuck between floors).  After exiting the lift the power then suddenly came back on.  Needless to say, I opted to take the stairs at that point.  Getting stuck in a lift in this country is probably much more likely then having it happen to you in the first world.  I can only imagine how bad it could get if the power grid was to remain offline for an extended period of time.
