webfact
Top architect says river project plagiarized design By Sasiwan Mokkhasen, Staff Reporter - At top, a rendering of the proposed Viman Phra In (Paradise of Indra) as presented by the Chao Phraya boardwalk design team. At bottom, a rendered image of Crystal Island as designed by British architect Norman Foster. BANGKOK — Flames erupted over the Chao Phraya River again when one of the nation’s top architects pointed out that recently unveiled plans for a structure anchoring a controversial river redevelopment project were identical to that of a famous British architect. In fact, architect Duangrit Bunnag said the design for the signature landmark Viman Phra In (Paradise of Indra), a monumental structure which will house a museum, came from a 3D model of architect Norman Foster’s work available free download online. DM07
Both ugly as something that rhymes with "duck"! But I would have wondered, if we would actually get any landmark in Thailand, that is not riddled with religious and mystical BS!

noitom
Thais love to plagiarize and use other's intellectual property and then deny all credit. It's in the Thai DNA. Thainess if you will. And then when challenged, you can always count on a Thai plagiarist or intellectual property thief to excuse it away and blame the 0riginal author - Thais are amazing , predictable and delusional. Hayduke
What's the problem? If the British architect was hired for the project it would be illegal. But he they didn't hire him to do the work, they just ripped off his design. Therefore it's all perfectly acceptable.

Sphere
It's definitely not a copy. I can almost see a tied-up farang body floating down the river. No way Norman Foster had that in his original plan.
