What star is left of Koh Larn

Sitting every evening on my balcony and see this bright star on the left side of Koh Larn when you look from dongtan beach location. It's only one single bright star. Anyone have the idea what star it is?

i know it's a stupid question but I'm just curious?

Venus is a little south of West, at the horizon,

 

with Arcturus, a handful of degrees above and to the North of Venus

If you have an android phone, instal google star map. It is an excellent app for amateur stargazers.

you can download a free app called Sky Map on to your smart phone. turn GPS on then point your phone at the night sky and you will get all the stars and their names.

yeah, iPads have great Apps available too,

 

but for a PC/laptop, then Stellarium is really good, which is what I have fired up right now...

I think its not a star but a satellite you are seeing.
