PHUKET:-- The police officer facing drunk-driving charges after he landed six people in hospital in Phang Nga last Friday night (Sept 10) has been released on B20,000 bail, and police are still waiting on blood-alcohol test results from the Phang Nga Hospital, which police still say will take a week to confirm.

Central bank keeps benchmark interest rate at 1.5 percent

BANGKOK: -- The Bank of Thailand’s Monetary Policy Committee on Wednesday agreed to keep the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 1.5 percent for the 11th times, citing that the economy is still recovering and there is no need to ease monetary policy to bolster the economy, said Mr Jaturong Jantharangs, secretary of the committee, on Wednesday.

Thailand suspends rice auctions to limit supply before November harvest
