Flooding hits Phnom Penh following heavy weekend rains

Heavy rains descended on Phnom Penh on Saturday night, flooding many streets and even some homes throughout the capital.

 

Chan Yutha, spokesman for the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, called the water level “immense” yesterday.

 

“The most flooded area was from Tuol Tompoung neighbourhood to Chak Angre, with the rain water level at 93 millimetres,” Yutha said, adding that while more rain is expected, the department would update its weekly weather forecast today.
