BANGKOK, 19 September 2016 (NNT) – The Royal Thai Police is providing extra security protection at important locations and embassies in the wake of the bombing incident in the United States, says spokesman. Officials have confirmed that no Thai nationals were connected or affected from the incident.

The Royal Thai Police Deputy Spokesman Pol Maj Gen Piyapan Pingmuang revealed the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has ordered all security agencies in Thailand to conduct intelligence work regarding the bombing incident in Chelsea, New York, which led to many injuries and building damages.

The Royal Thai Police Headquarters has dispatched all units to tighten up security measures at checkpoints, conduct frequent patrols, and to be on high alert at tourism attractions, symbolic locations, and consulates and embassies, especially the United States Embassy in Thailand.

The police spokesman has also confirmed that there is no evidence of any connection of the violence incident to Thailand, and that officials are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any incidents in the Kingdom.

I know, that many Thais could not find Thailand on a map of Thailand...but why is the Thai- police on alert, if something happened in New York?

They are not even on alert, when something happened in Yala and there are "things" happening there...a lot!

see they have bombings in america so it is normal. just deflecting attention away from the failing to find the people responsible for the bombings here.

"In 2011, the family (Being the family of the bomber) sued the city of Elizabeth, and its police department, alleging discrimination and harassment against Muslims."

Maybe, the result of the court case not going their way?
