manfredtillmann Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 i just read that this ground breaking album turned 25 years old... so hard to believe. i loved 'teen spirit' and 'come as you are', it just seemed so natural, a continuation of something i left behind in the 70's... any one of you guys have memories of the time this 'epic' got released?
sipi Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 I can still remember this teen spirit.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTTzcXSLjhI

tutsiwarrior Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 in 1996 I was working in north Jakarta and near to the site in Muara Karang there was a bridge over a canal upon which someone had scrawled in English 'Kurt Cobain Lives'... a western colleague also saw the graffito and was sufficiently curious so he got hold of a cassette of Nirvana's music...we listened on the car stereo and agreed that the music had more to admire than the usual popular music offering...
mania Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Wow that is kinda scary that it has been 25 years... But then it always is these days when some anniversary passes & it was an event that happened 20-30 years ago gettin old I guess But yeah at that time I was involved in the music equipment industry & went to things like NAMM in Anaheim every year. Nirvana while not the extreme technically great type musicians, did herald in an era of grunge along with groups like Pearl Jam, Sound Garden, Alice in Chains etc etc
