rosaria2578 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I have a question and am wondering if anybody might be able to answer me. My father will be coming to visit my husband and i (he normall does for a few months to avoid winter in italy) - this time he will be limited to 3 months with the new rules. BUT how does it work, if he were to stay 1 month, and then extend for another month - if he left exactly after that one was up to go to laos for a few weeks, would he be able to get the 3rd and final extension when he returned or does the extension possibility only apply if he stays in thailand more or less continuosly? would he not be allowed back in at that point? thanks.
lopburi3 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Why not just obtain a tourist visa prior to travel from a Royal Thai Consulate (or a travel agent) which will allow a 60 day stay that can be extended with a visit to immigration for another 30 days to cover the full 3 months. Cost of extension is 1,900 baht and visa will run about 1,000 baht I suspect. Use of entry without visa is supposed to count the days with 90 being the max allowed in any six months period.
