TMN Internet Fiber to Home 20/7Mbps - Real Performance?

Featured Replies

TMN is offering Internet fiber to home 20Mbps download and 7Mbps upload for 599 baht + 7% tax a month, 2,000b for the modem (plus 7% tax). Does anyone have this package in Pattaya (in a condo)? What speed do you actually get?

As far as I know the 20/7 is only guaranteed inside Thailand. I expect that outside of Thailand it would be much less.

3BB staff are very clear that their VDSL packages dont offer anywhere near the advertised speed outside of Thailand and will normally be slower than their older more expensive ADSL package. I stayed with my old ADSL package rather than change to VDSL as a result.

With the TMN 20/7 fiber package, using testmy.net to Japan and Singapore servers, I am getting an average 7.8Mbps download and upload ranges from 2.54 to 4.5Mbps on Saturday 1 October 2016 at about 11am, in a condo located in central Pattaya.

Anyone else have any stats to share?

I wonder what you get to the UK or the US, and in the evening?

That are pretty poor results for a 20Mb fiber connection. On my 3BB 18.8/1.8 ADSL I get about 14Mb to Singapore on testmy.net.

To UK I'll get +10Mb and US ~8Mb

You have the same package as I do. It's much faster outside of Thailand than the newer cheaper fibre and VDSL packages which all seem to be extensively throttled for overseas use.
