Appointed !  oh sorry I miss read the text

I thought it said Anointed ( to smear or rub one self with oil or substance )

National Council for Peace and Order.

If you want any peace just obey our orders. Now that's not hard to understand is it ?

It is reassuring to see so many fresh young faces, who having gone through a rigorous transparent selection process, have now been appointed to this august body on the basis of their ability.

Exactly, everything is so open and transparent with the junta there'd never practice cronyism.

Cronyism  i am shocked that anybody would stoop so low as suggest the PM and his pals would do such a thing.

Mr Meechai Ruchuphan is the only non military member. He was appointed as legal advisor to the then Prime Minister in 1973 and has stayed there ever since. He is favoured by the palace.

These gentleman still have the last say in politics.

Oh dear,

And enthusiasm for democracy, with a firm intention to ensure that the fundemental political and civil rights are adhered to. Don't forget that - it is absolutely central to the whole process.....

should have pretended it was democratically done like the referendum. just appoint who could run in it and dont allow any political gatherings or open discussions. missed a real opportunity to return to democracy there mr general.

Have they declared their assets?

This has become so absurd I've come to the conclusion that the people are just patiently waiting for the end of the current 'era'. Until then they are just letting these chuckleheads play their games.

Why do you think the junta was allowed to stage the coup in 2014?

These gentlemen, the junta, take orders from gentlemen who have the last say in politics.

No, but they have declared their contempt for the Thai people and the democratic process in general.
