Do baht buses run up the connecting back road from Klang to Nua?

Featured Replies

There is a North/South road not quite on the same path as Buakao, but connecting Klang to Nua (I think it runs by the Big C). Is it a baht bus route? I don't go in that direction very often, would be nice to know.

The soi you refer to is usually called "soi Yume," and no, there is no regular baht-bus service on this soi. Beach, Second, Bua Khow, Naklua, and Sukhumvit are the only streets that have regular north-south baht bus runs in Central Pattaya.

A baht bus route on 3rd Road would make more sense than Soi Yume.

No. Crappy service routes away from the beach side.

Yes, a Third Road service would transform public transport in Pattaya west of Sukhumvit.

But sadly despite all the amazing property development that's taken place in central Pattaya over the last ten years, the baht bus routes haven't changed one iota.

I wonder if an every 10 minute large bus service running the entire length of 3rd would be a realistic solution. They're obviously not going to do baht buses there.

Why would large buses be the answer on Third Road and not baht buses? Baht buses work on Nua and Klang.

The speed and traffic patterns. Baht bus service cross town is inadequate.

Ah, you need to explain more. For a start, which way is 'cross town'?

Kind of funny how a baht bus passes you every 2 minutes on Buakao yet there are 0 along 3rd Rd and Yume. It's not like these are just for expats either, a low volume of them would surely pay off.

The current powers that be could mandate the Baht Bus Collective as part of their cartel - sorry - exclusive service contract - to run baht buses say every 20 minutes up and down Third Road and other important routes.

But that would require local bigwigs to think of the public good and not their own.
