Change of address Chomburi Immigration Jomtien

Featured Replies

Just thought I'd let members now what happened to me today at Jomtien Immigration.  Concerned that 4000 baht fines have been flying about and I had not informed them of my change of address details from 1st June 2016, prompted me to go.  I'm currently on a Non "O" Retirement due for renewal in May 2017.

Friday 7th October 2016

10:35   I went in and asked for form TM28. She asked me 'why'?, I said  'to notify you of new address details'.  She gave me a local form which had no number on it, but was headed,

(Additional Information Form for Foreign National: To Better Serve and Protect)  What the ???  I thought to myself. I'm sure it was the same form I used to apply for my Thai bank account and Driving Licences.  She told me what part to complete and to get photo copies of passport and new rental agreement.

10:45   I handed in completed form.  She gave me a ticket for desk number 4.  My number was flashing up as I entered. I gave the lady every thing...The Form, Passport, Rental Agreement and all the copies. She didn't even look at the copies and handed them back to me.  She then typed the new address in her system. She attached a new 90 day report notification slip to my passport (which was not due until 23rd October). 'Khob Khun Ka' she said and handed back my passport.

10:48 I left the building. Not even 15 minutes and I was in and out. I was more relieved that I didn't get any fine. Easy peasy.

Is Jomtien one of the offices were you can send in the TM30 (and maybe a TM28) via registered mail too?

Otherwise this would restrict all traveling within Thailand dramatically, unless you want to go to Immi every now and then.... I do like to travel and have seen 43 provinces already
