rooster59
Pathum slasher: Arrest warrant issued as police hunt "non-Thai" Image: Thai News Agency BANGKOK:-- Police north of Bangkok say they have identified a suspect in the brutal slayings of three homeless people. An arrest warrant has been issued for a man though no name was given. A sketch based on witness statements and CCTV has been circulated to all police districts in an effort to catch the man. Two people were killed on October 4th while Sathian Sornchai, 48, was found with his throat cut and stomach stabbed later in the week. The murders happened within 500 meters of each other in the area of Klong Rangsit and the road up to the Don Muang tollway. All the victims died by slashing and had their arms tied behind their backs. In a latest twist police said they do not believe that the wanted man is Thai. Witnesses said that he had been seen over the last two weeks. He was seen drinking alcohol two or three times in the area before the murders. CCTV caught a slim individual about 160cms tall in shorts before the first two murders. A man matching that description was seen before the third murder riding a bicycle. After the murder he was seen riding the bicycle south into Bangkok. he was last caught on CCTV outside the Zeer Street department store in Rangsit. He then disappeared. All leave for police in the area had been cancelled as a 24 hour operation intensifies. Residents in the area are worried to go out on the streets amid fears the slasher may strike again.
