Sharing guidance on behaviour for foreigners over next weeks

Featured Replies

Within the forum rules - can we share any guidance or advice that people may pick up from Thai friends or Thai TV News about the customs and rules that will apply over the forthcoming weeks?

Only advice I've seen so far is that there should be no parties.  There will probably be a period when bars are closed.  Some Government Offices may close.

Not sure if there's an expectation that people wear black clothing?

All my Thai friends seem to be changing Facebook profiles - so probably not a good time to post anything too light-hearted on FB if you live in Thailand.

Please share what you've heard - as we don't want to appear insensitive during this sad period.

I'd be very careful, some negative comments already on FBs BBC links from Thais re the succession. Keep shtum.
