BANGKOK:-- A woman who was in tears on hearing of the death of the king on Thursday spoke for the entire nation.

The interview as part of a 12 minute news segment was shared across social media.

She spoke of the king as not some living god but a father. A father who wanted to do the best for his children and grandchildren that was the Thai nation.

The woman - constantly in tears - said she didn't want to believe the stories that he was unwell. But had to accept that his recovery was just a story for children.

She said she had to face the reality that he was gone.

She spoke of his great works and accessibility to the people. He was not some person high up on a throne in a castle but someone the people could turn to.

She also gave her best wishes to the queen saying that she does not want to lose her as well. The report mentioned that she is also in hospital.

The reporter and anchor in the clip also bring the powerful sense of loss of the Thai people to the international audience.
