BANGKOK, 15 October 2016 (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Khrua-ngarm has called on the people to follow information from the authorities and stop spreading groundless rumors.

The deputy premier announced via the TV Pool that rumors in social media were not welcome at this time when the people nationwide are mourning the death of His Majesty the King. He said one of the best things for the people to do at the moment is to refrain from spreading untruthful hearsay and to listen to information directly from the authorities.

The authorities include Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, the government spokespersons and clearly identified sources, he said, adding that today is a delicate moment during which the mourning ceremonies are being held nationwide.

The government is not as yet asking Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn to accede to the throne and will do so under established procedures and at an appropriate time, according to the deputy premier.

The government road map will be followed as earlier announced by the premier and nothing has apparently stood in its way, he said.
