BANGKOK:-- Government spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd has said that contrary to online rumors the prime minister was not the person on a motorbike leading the Royal Funeral Procession from Sirirat Hospital to the Grand Palace on Friday.

Many people had shared pictures of the man in a full face helmet that they thought resembled PM Prayuth Chan-Ocha.

A picture of the man in the helmet was issued with a warning in Thai underneath saying: "This is not the PM - please do not share".

The prime minister was in fact waiting within the Grand Palace to receive the procession, Manager Online reported.
