BANGKOK, 22 October 2016 (NNT) - Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has thanked the people and organizers for performing the royal anthem in magnificent and impressive fashion at Sanam Luang ground today.

Government spokesman Lt. Gen. Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the premier thanked and admired the people who sang the royal anthem at Sanam Luang and in nearby areas, especially those who had come from the provinces.

Under a scorching sun, the people demonstrated a unified act of allegiance to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

In particular, the premier admired the spirit of Pan Muenyod, the 84-year-old disabled villager who rode on his royally-bestowed tricycle from Buriram province to the Grand Palace to join the mourning of the late King.

He instructed officials of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to take care of Mr. Pan and provide him with food, drinks and health care during his stay in Bangkok and on his way back to Buriram.

Lt. Gen. Sansern added that the singing of the royal anthem has been recorded as an historical act of allegiance, for viewing as a motion picture or video in homes, at theaters and via television channels nationwide.
