BANGKOK, 24 October 2016 (NNT) - At least 3,000 people per day from outside Bangkok will visit the Grand Palace to pay respect to the late King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej when the palace is open to the public.

Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Interior Kritsada Boonrat said his ministry had developed a plan to facilitate the arrivals of people, who will be transported to Bangkok from across the country, from October 29th to January 20th, 2017.

The first day the royal funeral will be open to the general public is Friday, October 28th.

During these 84 days, only 600 people per day from selected provinces will be allowed to enter the Grand Palace from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a period of 79 days. Provinces will be selected in alphabetical order.

The total number of people expected to visit the Grand Palace during the aforementioned period is no less than 255,000.
