Leaving the country with expired 90 day registration card.

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,

I have a Non Immigrant B visa which obviously requires me to sign in every 90 days for proof of address. I've finished my job early and plan to leave Thailand. What happens if I go through passport control with an expired 90 day registration card? Can I get into trouble for that? Do they even need to see it? What if there's no 90 day registration card in my passport at all?  Any and all advice very gratefully received, thanks.

Cheers, Blue.

I think you mean your reports of staying longer than 90 days in the country.

Immigration on departure from the country have no interest in 90 day reports. You can take the report receipt out and it would not even noticed since they do not look for them.

If you're lucky and they don't type your passport number, you'd be fine.

But if I were you I'd go to the Immigration and pay a 2,000- maybe 5,000 baht fine.

           If it's only two weeks, I'd guess 2 K.

Nonsense

Immigration at an airport or border crossing  has no access to the 90 day reporting records that are only kept by the office processing them.

Thanks Ubon Jo, this was what I was hoping to hear, I'm interested to know if anyone can confirm or contradict this. Cheers

Sorry, we've posted at the same time. Okay, I was wrong, my apologies. Peace.

You can be asked at anytime to prove that you have made your 90 day report, however, it is highly unlikely that you'll be asked at the airport when leaving the country. As UJ said the airport Immigration staff have no interest in outstanding reports, and don't have access to the records. You can remove the last report receipt from your passport as there is no requirement to keep it in your passport.
