3 sub-districts meet to push new highways

PATTAYA:-- The Department of Rural Roads met with administrators from Nongprue, Nong Plalai and Huay Yai sub-districts to push forward road projects to solve traffic problems.

Nongprue Mayor Mai Chaiyanit, Nong Plalai Mayor Pinno Homklan and Kochsit Mulsraku, representing Huay Yai, welcomed Klangwit Uthairuang, director of the maintenance division at the Rural Roads Department to discuss road projects that run through all three municipalities.

The department called together all three local administrations to discuss possibilities of putting a road project forward to solve traffic issues as well as move forward with road development.

The department is concerned that the population of Pattaya and Banglamung District is growing rapidly and some of the existing roads are wearing out. Therefore the department is proposing to construct Route 1, which would be 18 kilometers long and connect Highway 36 to Huay Yai.

The project was first proposed in 2015 but has been stalled.

Here is your answer a little further down the article. quote  The project was first proposed in 2015 but has been stalled. unquote Fast forward to 2020 and the above will still be true. Its all about the money honey. Talk is cheap.

I think it will happen , in the next few years. Badly needed.

If those great officials just wait until the extension of the #7 is ready and the tunnel project is completed, they will see that their #1 between #36 and Hua Yai is no longer needed, unless those officials are in urgent need of some extra cash which is most likely.
