BANGKOK, 29 October 2016, (NNT) - The Shaolin Temple recently organized a ceremony to pay respects to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

According to the Facebook social media page of Assoc. Prof. Gp. Capt. Yutana Tra-ngan, Vice President of the Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai Province, the ceremony was presided over by Shaolin Abbot Shi Yongxin at the temple in Zhengzhou, Henan, China.

Also in attendance were General Cheta Thana-Charo, Dr. Teerawat Wongvoratat, other representatives of Thailand and about 600 Shaolin monks.

The Facebook page indicated that the historic event marked the first time ever that the temple had held such a ceremony for a figure of worldwide influence.
