Makro security measures

Featured Replies

What's going on at Makro? I went there yesterday for the first time in about a fortnight and now they've got a guy checking underneath your car with a mirror as you arrive. (Only on the driver's side though, so anyone planning to plant a bomb should put it underneath the passenger's side.  ) Then as well as the usual couple of security guards at the store entrance they now seem to have around 20 people from a private security company patrolling inside the store.

Does anybody know if there's a specific bomb threat to Makro at the moment, or is this just carry-over from the bomb scares in Bangkok?

One of the security show events done at many places.

I had this more than once at Central in Khon Kaen.

So useless with the mirror underneath and closed trunks not looked at.

Central in Pattaya is a complete joke.

Security scan devices at some(!) of the pedestrian entrances.

No checks when coming through the car/motorcycle parking.

Soft targets everywhere.

You can bet it is.

I went there on Thursday, drove in to the car park, saw two security guards

holding the mirrors, they just waved me through without stopping to check

my car.

Maybe their mirrors are for checking their hair and zits on their faces.

I haven't been to Tesco Lotus or Big C for a week or so, have they got similarly inept enhanced security in operation?

Maybe they're making sure that Yingluck isn't clinging on underneath your car trying to do a runner and avoid paying her 35 Billion Baht fine.

Those cabbages can be dangerous !

What a silly no mark comment!

Went yesterday myself and nothing like that.

I was there early so perhaps a specific threat later in the day.
